01 The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Branch of the World Meteorological Center (Beijing) was officially launched
On November 20, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Branch (hereinafter referred to as the Branch) of the World Meteorological Center (Beijing) in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province was officially launched.

Representatives from more than 30 countries attending the international meteorological training in China were present.

The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Branch of the World Meteorological Center (Beijing) is the world's first "world-class, leading in China, with Bay Area characteristics". Based on the national initiative of jointly building the "21st Century Maritime Silk Road" and the overall development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, in addition to promoting the improvement of domestic meteorological service capabilities, It is also necessary to promote the export of meteorological service capabilities to countries and regions along the Maritime Silk Road, enhance Marine meteorological service support capabilities, and continuously enhance the overall meteorological strength and international influence of the Greater Bay Area.
02 The international meteorological training class was held in the sub-center
On November 20, the "2023 International Training Course on Tropical Cyclone Monitoring and Forecast Business and Senior Management and the 8th International Training Course on Typhoon Business", sponsored by the China Meteorological Administration and co-sponsored by the Executive Leadership Academy of China Meteorological Administration (WMO Beijing Regional Training Center) and the Guangdong Meteorological Administration, was held in the sub-center. Senior managers and senior meteorologists from more than 30 countries participated in the training.

03 2023 Guangzhou Smart Meteorological Equipment Exhibition was successfully held in the sub-center
In the same period, the 2023 Guangzhou Smart Meteorological Equipment Exhibition was successfully held in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Branch Center of the World Meteorological Center (Beijing). The event was sponsored by Guangdong Meteorological Society and hosted by Guangzhou Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Meteorological Intelligent Equipment Center.
Hangzhou Shallow Sea Technology Co., LTD. (hereinafter referred to as: Shallow Sea Technology) was invited to participate in the exhibition with self-developed microwave radiometer (SMR-100), meter scatter aerosol Lidar (MPL-5000), two-dimensional visual raindrop spectrometer (SVD-2) and Marine meteorological drift Observatory (SOB17BS).

At present, the World Meteorological Organization has identified a total of 10 World meteorological centers, and the World Meteorological Center (Beijing) is the only World meteorological center located in a developing country.
