“Cross-Strait Coral Reef Symposium”was co-sponsored by the South China Sea Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Taiwan Research Institute biodiversity Center in 2005, and has been successfully held for seven sessions so far.The conference is scheduled to be held at Mingshen Golf Resort Sanya from September 7 to 10, 2019. This symposium will adhere to the consistent purpose of exchanging the latest research results in coral reef biology, ecology, geology, ecological resource protection and conservation management on both sides of the strait, and promoting in-depth cooperation among scholars related to coral reefs on both sides of the strait.

      Meeting Purpose：

      （1）Study the resilience and evolution trends of coral reef ecosystems under the influence of global climate change and human activities;

      （2）To discuss the biodiversity and resource status of coral reefs in the South China Sea, as well as the conservation and management of coral reefs;

      （3）Promote cooperation and exchanges between mainland China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong on the research on coral reef ecosystems in the South China Sea.
