September 18-21, 2018,French NKE Instrumentation Sales Director Yves Degres and Technical Director Jerome Sagot were invited to visit China.As the exclusive agent of the French NKE company's Argo buoy series products, Shallow-Sea Technology arranged this trip,and visited The First Institute of Oceanography,MNR、South China Sea Institute of Oceanology,Chinese Academy of Sciences、State Key Laboratory of Tropical Marine Environments、Second Institute Of Oceanography,MNR、SOED、LMEB.
On the afternoon of the 18th, at the invitation of Gao Libao, Deputy Director of the Ocean and Climate Research Center of the The First Institute of Oceanography,MNR, representatives of NKE manufacturers participated in the seminar on buoy technology.Yves Degres and Jerome Sagot conducted in-depth discussions on the application of marine buoys in polar regions, ice exploration algorithms and applications of DO sensors.
At the invitation of researcher Tang Danling, director of the Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Ocean Remote Sensing, the experts rushed to Guangzhou after the seminar to participate in the LORS Ocean Remote Sensing Frontier Forum (V) - a seminar on ocean buoy technology on the morning of the 19th. Yves Degres and Jerome Sagot discussed the equipment production, technical support, buoy observation control, sensor configuration, working mode, observation accuracy, duration and data transmission of marine buoys, especially marine bio-optical buoys (Bio-Argo).
On the 20th, at the invitation of Chai Fei, director of the State Key Laboratory of Satellite Ocean Environmental Dynamics, the experts arrived in Hangzhou. At the same time, they also visited the Second Institute of Oceanography of the State Oceanic Administration, the State Key Laboratory of Satellite Marine Environmental Dynamics, and the State Oceanic Administration Key Laboratory of Marine Ecosystems and Biogeochemistry.
Yves Degres and Jerome Sagot made a report on NKE's company profile and related products, and focused on the star product BGC-Argo. During the meeting, experts and representatives of NKE manufacturers had a heated discussion on how to give full play to the role of BGC-Argo to achieve optimal applications and polar applications.
BGC-Argo
BGC-Argo is a great innovation in the application of ordinary Argo buoys. It can be applied to multi-disciplinary fields such as biology, earth, and chemistry. It has been widely used abroad. Director Chai Fei of the State Key Laboratory of Satellite Marine Environmental Dynamics serves as BGC-Argo domestically. The promoter and navigator of the application are at the forefront of domestic BGC-Argo applications and have set off a wave of domestic attention to BGC-Argo buoys.
Chen Jianfang, director of the State Oceanic Administration's Key Laboratory of Marine Ecosystems and Biogeochemistry, has devoted himself to the research on the biogeochemistry of the North and South Pole for many years, focusing on the application of BGC-Argo to the polar regions. After discussion, BGC-Argo is fully qualified for application in polar regions: on the one hand, BGC-Argo has an ice detection algorithm that can detect and prevent the top of the buoy from touching sea ice; on the other hand, BGC-Argo can be applied to moorings to realize long-term subglacial profile observation.

On the 21st, NKE representatives came to Shallow-Sea Technology Headquarters to exchange and train technical details with our technical engineers. After four days of preliminary discussions and technical exchanges on BGC-Argo, as an innovative application of Argo buoys, BGC-Argo has received more attention from domestic researchers; at the same time, thanks to the strong support of the teachers who participated in this conference, NKE has made domestic visits and exchanges. After a successful conclusion, Shallow-Sea Technology will also provide you with technical services and consultation with a more professional attitude.
BGC-Argo
BGC-Argo is a great innovation in the application of ordinary Argo buoys. It can be applied to multi-disciplinary fields such as biology, earth, and chemistry. The current polar application conditions are:
1. BGC-Argo has an ice detection algorithm, which can detect and avoid the top of the buoy touching the sea ice;
2. BGC-Argo can be applied to mooring type to realize long-term subglacial profile observation.
