In order to commemorate the establishment of the World Meteorological Organization, March 23 every year is designated as "World Meteorological Day", also known as "International Meteorological Day". The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) was established to commemorate the day of the establishment of the World Meteorological Organization and the entry into force of the International Meteorological Organization Convention (23 March 1950). Each year, a theme is set for the World Meteorological Day, requiring members to hold celebrations on this day and widely publicize the important role of meteorological work. This year, 23 March marks the 64th World Meteorological Day, with the theme "On the Front lines of Climate Action". The aim is to call on the whole society to take urgent action, cooperate more effectively in the field of climate change mitigation and adaptation, and actively respond to the severe challenges brought by the continuous warming of the earth to human survival and development.

Meteorological day science popularization theme series activities

On March 23, the China Meteorological Administration (CMA) and the Chinese Meteorological Society celebrated the 2024 Meteorological Day. The CMA Park is open to the public, with three theme exhibition areas: meteorological science popularization area, meteorological equipment exhibition area and science popularization interactive experience area. Shallow Sea Technology participated in the event with its self-developed two-dimensional visual raindrop spectrometer (SVD-2) and Marine meteorological Drift Observatory (SOB17BS), aiming to reveal the data sources behind the weather forecast for the public. During the exhibition, China Meteorological Administration Director Chen Zhenlin, Deputy Director Bi Precious, Zhang Zuqiang, Cao Xiaozhong, Xiong Shaoyuan, Chief engineer Song Shanyun and other bureau leaders participated in the tour, visited the shallow sea Technology booth, listened to the staff's introduction to the company and the exhibits.
