Recently, the Joint Laboratory for Metrology and Detection of Ocean Temperature, Salinity and Depth (CTD) Measuring Instruments of the Center for Islands in the South China Sea Sea Areas of the Ministry of Natural Resources was inaugurated! As a domestic marine monitoring technology enterprise, Qianhai Technology, with its cutting - edge technical strength and rich industry experience, has been fully involved in the planning, construction and technical research of the laboratory. The establishment of the joint laboratory aims to integrate the advantageous resources of all parties, carry out in - depth cooperation in the research and development, manufacturing, metrology and detection of marine instrumentation, and the formulation and revision of standards, effectively promote the coordinated efforts of enterprises and metrology and detection institutions, and inject new momentum into the quality improvement and efficiency increase of the marine economy.

Recently, the Inauguration Ceremony of the Joint Laboratory for Metrology and Detection of Ocean Temperature, Salinity and Depth Measuring Instruments was held. Wang Ping, Director of the Center for Islands in the South China Sea Sea Areas of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Zhang Baoxue, Deputy Director, Wang Lei, Chief Engineer, and others attended the ceremony.

• Precise Metrology and Detection: The laboratory is equipped with a high-precision calibration system for temperature, salinity, and depth measuring instruments. It can provide authoritative data support for marine scientific research, environmental monitoring, etc., ensuring the global mutual recognition of China's marine observation data.

• Joint Technological Research and Breakthrough: Qianhai Technology and the Center for Islands in the South China Sea Sea Areas of the Ministry of Natural Resources jointly build a production, education and research platform. They will make breakthroughs in "bottleneck" technologies such as the monitoring of extreme deep-sea environments and the long-term stability of sensors.  

  
  

• Smart Data Service: Relying on its self-built marine big data platform, the laboratory will establish a dynamic database of temperature, salinity and depth across the entire South China Sea region, providing a scientific basis for decision-making in disaster prevention and mitigation as well as ecological protection.

This laboratory is not only a highland for technological innovation but also an important fulcrum for serving national strategies. It supports the exploration and sustainable development of resources in the South China Sea, safeguards the construction of the Maritime Silk Road under the Belt and Road Initiative, and contributes to the research on the blue carbon ecosystem in the context of the "dual carbon" goals.

The completion of the joint laboratory is an important measure to thoroughly implement the spirit of a series of important instructions and directives from General Secretary Xi Jinping, such as "Strengthen original and leading scientific and technological research and firmly keep equipment manufacturing in our own hands" and "Accelerate the construction of a manufacturing power, a quality power, a space power, a transportation power, a cyber power, and a digital China". Focusing on the national strategic deployment regarding scientific and technological innovation, which adheres to facing the frontiers of scientific and technological innovation of national marine instrumentation and equipment and facing the major demands for national marine instrumentation and equipment products, it gives full play to the complementary advantages of the Center for Islands in the South China Sea Sea Areas and Qianhai Technology.
